{"id":1287,"date":"2022-02-08T19:34:00","date_gmt":"2022-02-08T19:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ngaio.org.nz\/wp2018\/?p=1287"},"modified":"2023-10-25T03:38:43","modified_gmt":"2023-10-25T03:38:43","slug":"1287","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ngaio.org.nz\/?p=1287","title":{"rendered":"Khandallah Pool to be Rebuilt"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wellington.govt.nz\/-\/media\/news-and-events\/news-and-information\/news\/images\/2022\/02\/khandallah-pool.jpg?mw=900\" align = \"left\" alt=\"Khandallah Pool.\" width=\"285\" height=\"190\"\/><\/figure>It is outside of our immediate area, but Khandallah Pool is well used by residents of Ngaio and Crofton Downs, so the Council Decision to rebuild the pool will provide us with a community asset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the February meeting of&nbsp;Wellington City&nbsp;Council\u2019s P\u016broro Rangaranga Social, Cultural and Economic&nbsp;Committee  the full rebuild, including heating of the main pool and installation of a new spa, was approved, with a total cost of $8.05 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis was a decision that had to be weighed up carefully and in the final outcome was made for the Onslow suburbs and all Wellington residents as a whole and will prove to be an investment that will contribute to fitness and more children actively engaged and trained in the life aquatic,\u201d said Mayor&nbsp;Andy&nbsp;Foster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The budget is scheduled to commence in 2023\/24.
