Ngaio Climate Crew member Bill Dashfield has tried to find a local recycling option for expanded polystyrene for four years- and now Mitre 10 Crofton Downs has become the first in the Wellington region to launch an expanded polystyrene takeback scheme!
Under this, members of the public can return polystyrene packaging from products bought at Mitre 10, which will then be remanufactured and used in polystyrene products stocked by Mitre 10, such as bean bag refills. This is a great move towards waste minimisation and it is so good to have this local recycling option. Way to go!
