NCDRA Community Picnic – Competitions.

Once again this year, we have some wonderful prizes which have been provided by local businesses.

But this year we are doing things a bit different, with four competitions that you will need to enter, if you want to be in the running for these prizes. Come back soon, we will have full details of each prize:

Going Carbon Neutral – A prize will be given for the idea which is considered to be the best of the bunch for enabling Ngaio and Crofton Downs homes to reduce their carbon footprint. Ideas will be judged on their effectiveness, and practicality across the homes in our area.

Deadline – Entries can be submitted on line or email up to 5.00pm on 29 February, or at the NCDRA stall at the Ngaio Picnic until 1.00pm on 1 March.

Judge– This competition will be Judged by Rebecca Matthews, Councillor for the Wharangi/Onslow-Western Ward.

Prize – The prize for the entry judged to be the best is a gift Voucher which is being donated by Village Pharmacy.

Going Carbon Neutral Junior – A prize will be given for the idea from someone who is, a group of, or an individual primary intermediate or secondary student under 15, and which is considered to be the best of the bunch for enabling Ngaio and Crofton Downs homes to reduce their carbon footprint. Ideas will be judged on effectiveness, and practicality across the homes in our area.

Best neighbour – nominate one of your neighbours for a prize. We are looking for an unheralded local hero, or someone who has helped to fashion our community into what it is today, and is a resident of Ngaio or Crofton Downs.

Deadline – Entries can be submitted on line or email up to 5.00pm 29 February, or at the NCDRA stall at the Ngaio Picnic until 2.00pm on 1 March.

Prize – The prize to the nominated neighbour, for the entry judged to be the most deserving is a posy which is being donated by Melissa Jane Florist, and a meat voucher donated by Cameron Harrison.

Ngaio Photograph – submit a photograph that captures the essence of our local community, present or past, to be in to win our photography prize. Submission of photographs includes permission for use by NCDRA.

Deadline – Entries can be submitted by email up to 5.00pm 29 February.

Judge– This competition will be Judged by Colin McDiarmid, local photographer.

Prize – The prize for the entry judged to be the best is a prize donated by Ngaio supermarket, and choice of either a meat voucher donated by Cameron Harrison or a voucher from Motor Doctors.

Conditions

  1. For all competitions, the Judge’s decision is final.
  2. Anyone submitting photos must have authority to do so, and in submitting them give NCDRA authority to use.
