Please comply with the level 4 Covid-19 response requirements. As Jacinda Adern has said the measures are in place to save lives. During lockdown, act as if you are diagnosed with Covid-19.
Social media is full of articles and stories around the virus, offering various degrees of credibility.
We recommend that for updates on this situation, that residents use the official government source at https://covid19.govt.nz/. Here is extensive resource about the virus, what you should be doing, and also updates from Government are posted here very quickly.
If anyone feels that they would benefit from any support, a first point of call could be this page, https://covid19.govt.nz/help-and-advice/, on the Covid-19 website, or the student army see above.
Looking after your mental wellbeing and available government support is discussed on this page – https://covid19.govt.nz/help-and-advice/for-everyone/looking-after-your-mental-health/.
Do not of course forget your usual supports – such as family and whānau, friends neighbours and workmates. And finally look after yourself – to eat well, drink well and exercise is important while you are self isolating.
There are a number of groups and individuals who are offering help and support, like the student army, while measures remain in place to fight against Covid-19. Wellington City Council are wanting to highlight these people and give them recognition. If you know of any support that is being offered in our community, please let Ian know at chair@ngaio.org.nz, and we will pass on to WCC.
